Happy Halloween!!

The best event, Trick or Treating!!

Getting dressed up, painting your face, putting on wigs and big shoes! And the going out to ring doorbells or knock and saying the magic words "Trick or Treat" to get the spoils of your efforts, and then run to the next house to do it over again. Contest: Do as many as you can before you get cold!! Well at least where I live!  Be safe everyone and have FUN!!  and kids, please remember to share with your parents, they did buy you the costume D: BOOO!!!

Day 2 - Candy

Do you buy the yummy treats YOU like or the icky ones so you won't eat them all BEFORE Halloween? LOL, We do a mixture of both but then again, I hid them so there wouldn't be any snacking, it's crazy to run out of candy. Although one house in my area hands out cans of pop, how "unHalloween" of them. That's not even fun for the kids that don't drink pop :(.  After TnT you get sort and share your favorites and then the "leftovers" goto the office to share the icky candy pieces, stashing the ones you like in your desk for that "hard" day at work, right?  LOL   Happy Haunting!

Day 3 - Costumes

Now we are getting close!! So exciting. I'm sure you have your costume picked out, right?  Well if not, you could be a zombie or Ghost (sheets with holes - i'm sure you remember from your childhood).  As an adult with kids, will you be dressing up as well? From Super Woman to Batman, Egyptian goddess to kitty cats, ponies to princess'. WOW the choices we have. Just be safe everyone!! Happy Haunting!

Day 4 - Decorating

How do you decorate? Tons of creepies in the front yard? Frightful images in the windows? Oh and the creaking door sounds from above. Or is it simple pumpkins on the front steps. Just because you go or don't go all out is fine, as some kids don't like the spooky but like the fun and cute. That's the fun of decorating!!  Me, we have a couple pumpkins (carved of course) and a couple LED images in the window (new this year), just keeping it simple this year.  Happy Haunting!!

Day 5

Pumpkin Carving!

eeeeewwwww! Big/small; round/skinny; smooth/bumpy, aren't they all gooey in the middle :P  That part of what makes it fun, how icky your hands become. Now what do you carve, a scary face? A witch or bat, scat the CAT!  Did you buy enough to line the walk way or just a few for the on the step? Are you using candles, oh be safe, or white lights or the orange/purple ones - if you got them :)  What's your opinion of them all?  Happy Haunting

Day 6

Parties!!

Love them! Fun for all ages and sometimes the adult as well. Community centers have them, schools, homes. If you are having one, be safe and enjoy!  Happy Haunting!

Day 7

Haunted events

You've got your Haunted Houses, Graveyards, Pumpkin Patches, and Hayrides. Have any favorites?? Mine if Linus with Charlie Brown, waiting for the "Great Pumpkin" every year and missing all that candy :D  To be or NOT to be Scared!! Boo.

Day 8

Halloween Drinks

Green with a floating eyeball, purple with blood drops, how many creepy Halloween drinks are out there. Plenty I'm sure. Just ask a Zombie and see what you get the next time you are out, provided you are of age!! Kiddie drinks are great also. Eyeball punch for example is a cool one even made with dry ice for that fog effect.  MMM, Happy Haunting!

Day 9

Food

I know you wouldn't normally think of food for Halloween, however it's the best for a Chef, or wanna-be Chef :D  You can do Mozzarella ghosts on your "cauldron" pizza, Kitty faces on cupcakes, Chocolate Bat Cakes with sprinkles of orange goo (frosting). You get the idea or at least it might have made you hungry. What's your favorite Food for Halloween?  Happy Haunting!

Day 10

Books

Scary books to read like Frankenstein or Dracula. Or the cute ones that are bedtime stories with Winnie-the-Pooh and Tigger. Vampires, monsters, dragons, all the classics are my favorite. The one series I am reading is called "The House of Night", Hunted just came out and it's very good.  What are some of your favorite Halloween books to read

Day 11

Magazines

They are LOADED with items to make for Halloween. You can do it yourself or make it a full family event, which is more fun! I like the hand drawn black cats or witches on a broom that you can put in your windows or hang as a mobile from the kitchen light.  What's your favorite handmade item?  Happy Haunting

Day 12

Pumpkin hunting

Orange and deceiving is what they are. They can be the smallest in the field and yet weight the heaviest. You can search for "hours" just to find the "perfect" one but only if you know what you are going to carve into it otherwise it "just won't work" :D  However the time spent with your child or anyone from your family is really a blessing, seeing as the simplest events are the best in the world!  Happy Haunting

Games

The internet is full of games where you can decorate your "place" with all the wonderful items of Halloween. Best yet is that most if it's free, where as if you decided to do that with your house...well it can get REAL expensive. Happy Haunting!
